Travel to Himachal Pradesh to see the famous apple town of India – Shimla. The beautiful apple orchards in Himachal Pradesh are a popular travel attraction of the state. While in HP a visit to these beautiful apple gardens is a must as here you can get to know more about the cultivation process along with enjoying the panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges at the backdrop.
Located on the Shimla-Rohru route, Kharapathar is located at almost 9000 feet above sea level. It falls in the middle of the main apple belt of this part of the State. It is located quite scenically in a forest of deodar trees and apple orchards. The main attraction of the place is the source point of the river Giri Ganga and a temple dedicated to Goddess Durga. The path to this place is mostly shaded by large Deodar trees and lined with green meadows with views of the downside valley.

Day 1 Delhi to Shimla
Take an early train from Delhi to Kalka. From Kalka you’ll catch the famous ‘toy’ train, marvel of engineering a narrow gauge railway built at the turn of the 20th Century and recognized by UNESCO as one of India’s great mountain railways. Marvel at the spectacular views over the foothills of the Himalayas as you ascend to majestic Shimla. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2 Glimpses of Shimla
This morning after breakfast we will explores the “Jewel of Orient” by heritage walk. A Walk over the Shimla’s main spur will display some of Shimla’s finest colonial structure (Christ Church, Gaiety Theatre, Town Hall, Railway Building, Gorton Castle and Vice regal Lodge). Those who has entered at all deeply in the engrossing history of the British, their development and settlement in Shimla, this is the most interesting and attractive walk for them. The entire length of this Heritage walk comes under Shimla’s Heritage Zone which still holds the memory of British imperial dream. The rest of the day is free for you to explore further or to relax at your leisure. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3 Shimla to Narkanda
This morning we will proceed to Narkanda. Enroute visit Kufri (Nature Park, Indira Point), Fagu (Fagu is a tiny village aside a saddle-like mountain along Hindustan Tibet Road. A rare range of views is visible from here, which include vivid dales and snow clad peaks. The picturesque countryside is dotted with clusters of villages, fruit gardens and nearby terraced fields). Most of the areas from Shimla to Narkanda are covered with conifers of Himalayan, cedar and spruce and apple Gardens which are a part of the timeless tranquility of the Himalayas. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 4 Narkanda- Thenedar- Tani Jubbar Lake- Kharapathar
This morning we have glimpses of Narkanda (Situated at an attitude of 2708 meters) which offers a spectacular view of snow ranges of the outer Himalayas. This is an ideal retreat for the tourists who seek seclusion in mountains. It commands a unique view of the eternal snow line, the inviting apple orchards, and dense forests and is a gateway to apple country of Himachal Pradesh. After breakfast We Hike or drive to the Hatu Temple at the Peak, apple orchards valleys and a very beautiful Tanu Jubbar lake surrounded by whispering cedar trees and bifurcating from here takes you to the Himachal’s Horticultural heartland, Kotgarh and Thanedhar, renown for apple orchards. Post lunch drive to the Kharapathar. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day-5 Local discovery at Kharapathar
This morning after breakfast we drive or hike to Giri Ganga which is surrounded by dense forest of pine and tall cedar trees. It offers spectacular view of snow ranges, beautiful valleys and apple orchard. It is a paradise for photographer or nature lover. Post lunch we visit to Jubbal Palace (the former Residence of King of Jubbal State) which offer rich history and legacy of the state. Later at evening we visit one of the beautiful Durga Mata temples situated on the bank of River Pabbar at (Hatkoti) built by Pandvas during their long twelve years exile. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day-6 Rohru to Shimla
This morning after breakfst Drive back to Shimla for your onward journey.
